behind my hassel

My name is Susanne Treml, aka ana.log_love.

For over 15 years I have been photographing ambitiously and self-taught.

My first steps led me into the world of nature and landscape photography, later into the field of architecture and still life. 2 years ago I finally dared to take the step to take portraits of people and voila - a new passion was born for me.

Why analog?

I love the challenge to myself as a photographer that every analog shoot brings. Instead of simply picking out the best among hundreds of digital images, I create the optimal setting to capture the perfect moment in absolute presence in the here and now, with only 36 images on celluloid. Over time, the number of good images per film increased more and more, meaning that I as a photographer am constantly improving and growing in my craft. I love the feel of the film stock in my hands, the process of developing it, the control over it and the excitement of seeing the result at the end.

In addition, analog images have a very special aesthetic that I don't think can be imitated with any Photoshop vintage filters.

I had to work out the workflow that works for me for the first time, because not every old analog treasure from the flea market delivers satisfactory results. For this I use high quality lenses for my camera classics, to get the maximum sharpness and contrast out of the film carrier, and to preserve the unique color reproduction of the film.

But all that doesn't mean that I don't still reach for my digital camera from time to time ;)
